CULTIVATE supports innovative and creative thinking to provide training, development and education to empower underserved populations to achieve full potential in their communities and to provide a stable workforce for our growing local economy.
Our mission is motivated by the fact that Wyoming suffers a 78% unemployment rate for people with disabilities, a challenge for people in rural communities searching for meaningful employment. CULTIVATE realizes the unique contribution of this under-served population, and was conceived through the co-creation of an impact driven business, Vertical Harvest of Jackson Hole.
CULTIVATE and Vertical Harvest created an integrated workplace that includes 34 people, 19 of whom have a form of disability. Vertical Harvest's Grow Well employment model demonstrates how an inclusive culture has a positive connection to market performance and is an exemplary model for our community. By underwriting programs of the Grow Well employment model, Cultivate supports the training and education of employees with disabilities at the greenhouse.
In addition to our support at Vertical Harvest, Cultivate's mission has a broader, community wide intent. Cultivate is committed to providing the same support of training and education of employees with disabilities to other organizations who strive to create an inclusive environment and culture. The right to work belongs to us all, and finding consistent, meaningful work is a challenge for people with disabilities. We are committed to this vision and to celebrating everyone's unique abilities.
